BUSINESS DAILY: Ethiopia has opened a $3.61 billion (Sh371.8 billion) gap on Kenya’s economy fuelled by a decade of double-digit GDP growth, cementing its position as Eastern Africa’s emerging power house.

Financial Times - The government of Ethiopia has vowed to crush all threats to its economic model and insists it is succeeding in restoring order as it grapples with the most serious threat to its 26-year hold on power.

The Prime Minister Office has given the order to Ministry of Public Enterprises (MoPE) to transfer Bahir Dar Textile S.C, and Kombolcha Textile S.C, to Tiret Corporate, an endowment company affiliated to the ruling party in the Amhara Regional State. However, the transfer will be made at a price lower than expected.

Owning a car for many Ethiopians - even those with ready cash to spend in one of the world's fastest-growing economies - remains a pipe dream.
